Want to read the Bible in one year? Two great plans to achieve your goal

One of my resolutions for 2020 was to read the Bible from cover to cover, something I have never done before. I am currently reading from The Daily Bible in Chronological Order 365 Daily Readings . This was gifted to me by my coworker Shannon years ago and it wasn't until this year that I pulled it from my shelf, committed to finishing it. What I like about this Bible is that the average daily reading is no more than 5 pages. Also, there is a narrative section that sets the scene for what I'm about to read.  In saying all of this, are there days where I miss my reading? YES. Are there times when I don't remember what I just read? YES. Do I get discouraged? ABSOLUTELY.  God knows all of this and He recently replied through my friend whose name is...  GRACE.  I met Grace at bible school and she was born in Vietnam, just like me. Grace has read through the Bible more than once and I thank God for having her in my life. She has become one of my close friends. One day, Grace

My 11:11 New York Trip

credit: Colton Duke     This is about a trip I took in 2019 posted today on September 11, 2020 to commemorate the 9/11 attacks.    For the past couple of years, when I would look at a clock or turn on my phone, I'd see the time, 11:11. For me, it's a God wink.  Recently, a friend at work asked me to switch days with her.  I said yes and then realized I would now be off on November 11th.  11/11!  God, I wonder what you have in store for me that day.  Later that evening, I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a post from Vietnamese Boat People stating that they were hosting a live podcast taping with New York Times Best Selling author, Thanhha Lai .  Guess what day this would be on?  November the 11th! This was a big deal because I have been nudged to write a book for years.  I've always enjoyed writing and have recently decided to invest more time in it now that I've finished school.  I recommend Compel Training as a great resource. Thanhha Lai is a Vietnames

That Sounds Fun Nashville

photo source   In need of good conversation, I picked up Looking for Lovely: Collecting the Moments that Matter, a book by Annie F. Downs .   A few hours later, I was finished. It's rare that I complete a book in one sitting. My soul must have really been craving truth, laughter and stories of perseverance, grace and Big Love.     This is the second time I've read Looking For Lovely but the words felt new. I've also met the author, Annie, since reading the first time. I can testify that the feeling you get when you read her book is also the same when you spend time with her. She is encouraging, inspiring and your friend.    In July 2017, I went to Nashville with my friend Laura for "That Sounds Fun" weekend presented by Annie F. Downs. It would be a few days of speakers, site seeing and of course, fun. In the program, Annie wrote, "my team has worked tirelessly to make sure that this weekend sticks in your memory and in your heart for a long time".
