You're Never Alone
I'm trying not to go straight to my email or news when I wake up so I started to read the Verse of the Day from the Bible app on my phone. Today's verse is John 13:34 TPT "So I give you now a new commandment; Love each other just as much as I have loved you.
It's my day off from work and I have been able to spend much time in God's presence. As I was listening to an acoustic cover of "Another In The Fire", my head was down. I was sitting at my desk with my comfy pink blanket. My room was dark because I had been editing photos. When I opened my eyes, I saw a heavenly sky with shimmering stars and the word "love" in different languages floating with the clouds. What really created the image was my clear glass desk that had "love" etched in different languages. The heavenly sky was my pink blanket with gold dots. The clouds were a reflection of the light coming through my window and closed curtain.
I took a photo of what I saw and then started to play around with the image on my editing app. I love this part- it lets me work out my creative muscle and makes me feel alive. There's so much represented in this image. My relationship with God. The desk I've had for years. When I first saw it, I loved it but it was too expensive for me at the time. Years later, I saw the desk again and still loved it so I decided to buy it. The pink blanket with gold dots make me happy. There was a time when I didn't know what I liked. I was in a fog. I struggled with what I wanted and what I thought I should want. I know, lots of deep talk about a blanket. But now, I know what makes me happy.
My head is full of music, especially when I'm happy. I've always loved music and now that I'm a Christian, I've discovered worship songs. On this site, you can learn about the story behind "Another In The Fire". Musician Chris Davenport said he almost didn't finish composing. He struggled with disappointment but decided to finish the song and use it as a weapon against the enemy. He says the key to the song is "you're never alone".
Thank you Jesus that I can freely worship. Thank you for a house that I call home and the people and pets in it. Help free me from distractions so I can see more of you. You're always here. I'm never alone. Amen.
